Registration
Q: Will there be a Registration Packet? Will it be sent to me before the event?
A: YES, there will be a Registration Packet with a Program Book and additional information about specific events, Workshops, etc. You will receive the Registration Packet when you arrive in Bethany.
Q: Will there be Tours offered?
A: Yes, there will be the Historic Campbell Mansion Tour.
Q: I've registered. How do I change or revise my Registration?
A: If you wish to revise your registration (Golf Outing, Meal Ticket, Saturday Venue, Roommate selection, etc.), please email Roger at disciplesmen@hotmail.com.
Q: Is there a Refund Policy?
A: Refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Email Roger at disciplesmen@hotmail.com. After June 11, the refund will be 50% of payment. After July 1, there will be no refund.
Housing
Q: Where do I check in?
A: Check in at the Mountainside Conference Center.
Q: What if I arrive late at night?
A: You need to check in at the Gresham Inn lobby for your lodging. This will start at 6:00 pm on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday it will start at 10:00 am. If you know that you will be late please email Roger at disciplesmen@hotmail.com with the information.
Q: Who is making room assignments for the dorm?
- If you requested a single room, the dorm committee will assign you the next available room.
- If NO roommate was requested when you completed the registration form for a double occupancy room, the dorm committee will assign you to the next available room (2 men per room).
- If a specific roommate was identified on the registration form (by you and the roommate), then the dorm committee will accommodate appropriately.
A: The dorm committee will be making the room assignments.
Q: Is there a “check-out” process at the dorm?
A: YES, they are posted at each of the dorms. Additional details will be announced during the Gathering and will be in your packet.
Q: Is there a replacement fee for lost dorm room keys?
A: YES and that policy are controlled by the college. Ask for details during “check-in.”
Q: What is loft bed style?
A: A bed raised, as on supports high enough overhead to allow the use of the floor area below for various purposes. (Like a top bunk with no bottom bunk.)
Q: What are the motels? Is there a discounted rate?
A: All motels are in other cities with the expectation of Gresham Inn. There is no discounted rate for the event.
Q: Are there any local parks or campsites available for RVers?
A: YES, there are campsites available. See the registration form for the information.
Transportation
Q: Will there be shuttles to/from the airport?
A: YES, shuttle bus service will be available from Pittsburgh International Airport to the Xtreme Faith bold action, A Gathering of Disciples Men location. The transportation committee will have someone at the baggage claim area and they will be wearing the t-shirt with the event logo. If there is any change to your plans please email Roger at disciplesmen@hotmail.com. This needs to be done by July 6, 2012.
Q: Will there be shuttle service to the Mission Projects?
A: YES. And lunch will be provided on site for all workers as well.
Q: HELP – I missed the last shuttle bus to my Mission Project. What do I do NOW?
A: Your Registration Packet will have an emergency phone number to call local arrangement folks. We won’t leave anyone stranded.
Meals
Q: How does the MEAL TICKET work?
A: You will be given a wrist band to wear. We will be eating in the student dining hall with the expectation of Friday night dinner, and that will be at the football field.
Q: Are there other options for meals outside of the Meal Ticket program?
A: No.
Mission Project
Q: What is the Mission Project for Xtreme Faith Bold Action?
A: See the web site.
Q: What tools should I bring?
A: Men are encouraged to bring common hand tools, but tools will be provided for those who wish to avoid issues with airline travel restrictions.
Miscellaneous
Q: Who are the beneficiaries of the offering?
A: The offerings taken on Sunday will be divided equally, with one-third provided to the Star Supporter Fund, one-third to the Men's Ministries Endowment Fund, and one-third to the Disciple Mission Centers (All People's Christian Center, Inman Christian Mission Center, Kentucky Appalachian Ministry, and Yakama Christian Mission Center). If you give on Sunday, we will provide you with an envelope. All Sunday loose offering will be given to the local church for their stained glass windows project. Please make your offering check payable to: General Conference of Disciple Men.
Q: Will there be Wi-Fi (wireless access to the internet) available?
A: Only in dining hall and business center.
Q: Will there be a chapel on site?
A: YES. We will have a special room for meditation, and chaplains will be available if someone needs one. The chaplains will be listed in the program book.
Q: Is there a local hospital? What if I need medical assistance?
A: No, we will have to call for medical assistance.
Q: What time does the Golf Outing begins?
A: The traditional golf outing will have a shotgun start beginning at 10 AM on Friday, July 13. Transportation will be available for all golfers.
Q: Will there be a message board available?
A: YES. There will be a bulletin board set up near the entrance to the dining hall.
Q: Can I register now and email my flight plans later?
A. Yes, you can register and pay for the transportation now. After you get your flight arrangements, you can email them to us and we can add them to your registration form.
